For this full-home condo transformation, Sklar Furnishings’ designer Heather Jester set out to create something highly personal: a refined Florida retreat that felt worlds away from New York life without losing the sophistication her clients loved.
Purchased as their first Florida home, the condo had stunning ocean views and strong architectural potential, but the interiors themselves called for a complete refresh.
From the very first walkthrough, Heather knew the design needed restraint. The palette had to remain simple and tonal, allowing the panoramic water views to take center stage. Texture, lighting, and carefully layered materials would do the heavy lifting. The goal was clear: sleek, modern, timeless. Think NYC SoHo loft meets Boca Raton coastal living.

One of the most memorable moments in the home is the fully custom bar, designed from scratch by Sklar in close collaboration with the homeowners. Positioned prominently within the condo, the bar needed to feel connected to the kitchen while still standing confidently as its own design feature.
Rather than taking a conventional approach, Heather leaned into asymmetry, mixing wood, metal, and stone in a composition that feels tailored, sculptural, and effortlessly cool. Integrated lighting, open display shelving, and rich material layering transform the bar into what we call the “jewelry” of the home.
Custom design played an important role throughout the project. Built-ins were thoughtfully developed to create distinction without chasing trends. In the living room, a floor-sitting media console was chosen over a floating alternative, giving the space more grounding and individuality. The overarching philosophy remained consistent across the condo: create something different, but keep it classic.

The living room became the heart of the transformation.
The condo’s biggest asset was impossible to ignore: sweeping ocean views. But like many modern homes, the space also needed a functional television wall. Rather than compromise one for the other, Heather completely rethought the room’s orientation, flipping the previous layout entirely to improve flow, sightlines, and everyday usability.
A low-profile Bric Sectional by Nicoline anchors the seating arrangement, allowing the eye to travel effortlessly toward both the TV and the ocean backdrop beyond. Two Diga Swivel Armchairs introduce flexibility and soft movement, making the room feel conversational from every angle.
The palette stays intentionally restrained, relying on subtle contrast and tactile richness rather than bold color. The Vanishing Point Area Rug by Stanton adds layered texture underfoot, while the clear Ava Coffee Table keeps the center of the room visually open and unobtrusive.
In the corner by the windows, the sculptural Hyperion Floor Lamp by Tonelli brings height, illumination, and a subtle architectural edge.
The result feels calm, sophisticated, and remarkably balanced. Nothing competes with the view. Everything exists to frame it.

Entertaining played a major role in how this home was conceived, and nowhere is that more evident than in the dining spaces.
The dining area strikes a beautiful balance between modern refinement and everyday warmth. The Pure Dining Table by Trica paired with elegant Luna Dining Chairs creates a setting that feels equally suited for intimate dinners and lively gatherings. Overhead, the dramatic round configuration of the Phoenix Chandelier by Cattelan Italia introduces sparkle, depth, and a sense of occasion without overwhelming the room.
The eat-in kitchen plays a quieter supporting role but carries the same thoughtful design language. The breakfast nook features the geometric Opal Dining Table by Trica surrounded by Angle Dining Chairs by Peressini, creating an inviting spot for casual meals and morning coffee.
Nearby, the custom bar creates a natural extension of the entertaining experience, acting as both a functional serving station and sculptural focal point. The Ines Bar Stools by Peressini reinforce the clean, contemporary aesthetic.
Together, these spaces create a home designed for connection, conversation, and relaxed luxury.

While the living room opens outward toward the ocean, the media den offers something a little more intimate.
Designed as a comfortable escape for television, reading, or quiet downtime, the space layers softness, texture, and flexibility. An American Leather Lyons Sofa creates a relaxed foundation, complemented by the curved silhouette of the Mila Swivel Armchair by Dellarobbia. The oversized Ronde Ottoman by Lazar adds versatility, functioning as footrest, extra seating, or casual tabletop when needed.
Under the television, the brushed finish of the Arizona Sideboard by Cattelan Italia introduces warmth and structure, while the sculptural Fittipaldi Mirror by Tonelli reflects light and adds visual complexity above the sofa.
Grounded by the subtle patterning of the Gigi Area Rug by Stanton, the room feels cozy, elevated, and intentionally separate from the openness of the main living space.

The primary bedroom was designed as a true sanctuary, continuing the condo’s tonal palette through texture, softness, and understated elegance.
The Flann Bed by Ditre Italia establishes the room’s calm, tailored foundation, layered with refined furnishings that feel modern without becoming cold. The sleek glass detailing of the Cabaret Nightstands and Dresser by San Giacomo introduces subtle glamour, while the upholstered Tubo Bench by Trica softens the foot of the bed.
A pair of Berger Swivel Armchairs by American Leather creates a quiet seating area within the suite, offering a comfortable place to relax while maintaining the room’s clean architectural feel.

The condo’s office demonstrates Heather’s collaborative approach to design. Every decision was made with the homeowners’ personalities and routines in mind.
The workspace centers around the elegant Swan Desk by Huppé, paired with the distinctive leather detailing of the Guapa Office Armchair by Midj. A Pixel Area Rug by Stanton grounds the room with subtle visual movement, keeping the space professional, polished, and warm.
What makes this project especially memorable is the interplay between thoughtfully selected furnishings and highly personalized custom design.
Open, sleek, and deeply livable, the condo captures a rare balance between New York sophistication and South Florida ease. Ocean views remain the undeniable star, but every custom detail, every texture, and every thoughtful layout decision works quietly in support of that breathtaking backdrop.
