At Sklar Furnishings, every project is a unique canvas, and this case study of our collaboration with our client Carol in Palm Beach Gardens is a fine example of the same.
Carol is a perfectionist and a stickler for details. She wanted everything in her home to be spectacular. The goal of this project was to create a home that looked distinctive yet welcoming. Thus, naturally, the first step of the project was to better understand Carol’s preferences and style. A good chunk of time went behind the scenes in creating a mood board, taking measurements and picking favorites. Choices between different finishes and fabric selections also took time but were crucial in shaping the project.
Spanning over a year, the project involved transforming various living spaces, starting from the living room and progressing through the dining room, bedroom, and other areas. The comprehensive scope covered the living and dining rooms and parts of the kitchen, totalling around 4,000 sq ft. The goal was to make the whole house look and feel well-coordinated and balanced.
Notable additions to the project included the Apollo Ceiling Lamp, the Macchina della Luce Chandelier, and the Diamond Mirror. All of these pieces became a defining piece in this contemporary home.
Carol’s selective taste presented opportunities for creative exploration within the team. While initially expressing reservations about the boldness of gold for the wallpaper, Carol’s perspective evolved throughout the project and she ended up loving it once she had it installed. This reflects the nuanced process of interior designing, where trusting the designer’s expertise and allowing space for project execution leads to a seamless and successful outcome.
Months of meticulous planning and dedicated work resulted in a space that not only met but exceeded expectations. The home radiated beauty and elegance. Witnessing the harmonious convergence of all elements at the project’s end was truly a remarkable moment for everyone at Sklar Furnishings.
