Viola Tonucci was born in 1980 in Pesaro; a small city not well-known to foreign travellers, which sits on Italy’s Adriatic coast. She graduated from the prestigious European Design Institute of Milan in the jewelry section and did an apprenticeship at the architecture and furnishing Studio — Branco — in Milan. For some years she worked as a designer for several jewelry companies including Anaconda in Milan, but since 2003 she’s returned to Pesaro and continues to work with Tonucci Design becoming partner of the studio.
Within Tonucci design she is involved in industrial design, artistic direction, special conceptions of events and products for the companies exhibitions and interior furnishings. She’s also designed for Italian and foreign companies such as Manifesto design, Estel Group, Casanova, Tonelli Design, and frequently collaborates with prominent professionals and personalities.
Tonelli Design is an Italian manufacturer of glass furniture and recently launched six new designs from a group of international designers for 2017. During Salone del Mobile 2017, the brand presented the series of new work, which included one of Tonucci’s designs: the Ozma wall mirror. She continues to receive recognition for her award-winning originals designs and there’s no question we’ll be seeing more of Tonucci and her work in the future.
The Ozma wall mirror was inspired by the film The Wizard of Oz and is available for purchase at Sklar Furnishings.
