When a client with a deep appreciation for high-performance vehicles approached Sklar Studio, the design direction became immediately clear. Drawing on their admiration for automotive design—particularly the iconic work of Pininfarina—the Sklar Studio team curated a refined interior centered around the Reflex x Pininfarina Home Design collection. The result: a home that bridges Italian elegance with aerodynamic precision, bringing motion and emotion into every detail.
A Dining Room Centered Around the Iconic Vela Chair
Inspired by the sleek form and ergonomic precision of luxury car seats, the Vela Dining Chair became the anchor of the dining room. Its unique dual-shell design—featuring a firm, structured leather exterior and a soft, nubuck or leather interior—captures both the protection and comfort of a high-performance driving experience.
Every detail of the Vela Dining Chair was carefully considered by the Pininfarina design team. The suspended seatback creates a sense of weightlessness, while the tapered legs deliver a perfect balance of lightness and stability. With its sculptural profile and tactile contrast, the Vela Dining Chair doesn’t just echo automotive craftsmanship—it elevates the dining experience entirely.
To complement the chairs, the Sklar Studio team selected the Segno Dining Table, whose bold base and refined vetromarmo tabletop create a grounded yet elegant foundation. Overhead, the Cerchio Chandelier introduces a dramatic focal point with its looping ring composition—adding depth and movement while keeping the attention firmly on the hero piece below.
A Living Space Defined by Soft Curves and Refined Materials
The adjacent living room continues the design story with a palette and furniture selection that echo the dining room’s sophistication. The curved Segno Sofa anchors the space with its tailored silhouette and inviting proportions. Its tone-on-tone upholstery adds softness, while maintaining the clean, architectural lines that define the Pininfarina aesthetic.
A pair of Zenith Chairs introduces sculptural balance and a sense of movement, placed opposite the Tau Coffee Table—a round, marble-topped centerpiece that blends durability with elegance. Beneath, the Aero Carpet ties the seating area together in quiet, textural contrast.
Floating overhead, the Sassi Chandelier adds vertical rhythm and sparkle. Its cluster of glass pendants draws the eye upward and brings warmth and weightlessness to the open double-height space.
