What began as a simple living room refresh evolved into a complete design collaboration between Sklar Furnishings and Mark and Naomi Levine. With the help of Sklar’s design team, the Levines transformed their South Florida home, starting with the living room and gradually expanding into the dining area and a custom-built den that seamlessly blends the warmth of a media room with the practicality of a home office.

Building Trust, One Room at a Time

The Levines first visited Sklar Furnishings to furnish their living room, where they were introduced to our Designer, Millie de la Cruz. While initially uncertain about how their layout would work, the floor plan provided by the design team helped ease their concerns. Once the sectional, chair, and coffee table were delivered, the Levines were thrilled with the result—so much so that they left a five-star review and returned to expand the scope of the project.

Next came the dining room, for which we selected a sophisticated ensemble of Vela Dining Chairs, Segno Dining Table and Speedform Chandelier by Reflex, elevating their dining experience with sleek European design.

Designing a Multi-Functional Den

Following the success of the living and dining spaces, the Levines turned their attention to a less defined area of the home: the den. Their vision was clear—they needed a space that could serve as both an office and a cozy spot for watching TV. Our Designers proposed a flexible design solution that merged both functions without compromise.

The Kuba Plain Sofa from Nicoline became the anchor of the room, chosen for its generous size and elegant form. To complement it, two Uno Ottomans from American Leather were added in the same fabric as the sofa’s bolster cushions, creating a cohesive and functional lounge area.

On the opposite wall, we designed a fully custom office unit that included dual file cabinets, a TV installation, and upper cabinets with a sliding door unit above the screen—adding storage while keeping the look clean and unified.

Finishing Touches with Texture and Tone

Inspired by contemporary European design trends, we introduced the idea of using a travertine countertop for the desk, referencing materials seen at Milan’s design market, Salone del Mobile. The Levines immediately approved the choice, appreciating the natural, timeless texture it brought to the room.

To further soften the office wall and visually connect the space to other areas of the home, a wooden acoustic panel, similar to one displayed in our Sklar Studio, was added as the unit’s backdrop. The color palette remained calm and neutral, in line with the clients’ preferences. Paired with Guapa Office Chairs from MIDJ, the final design offered comfort, function, and a clean, modern aesthetic.

The Levine project is a clear example of how Sklar’s design services can grow with your needs. What began as a single-room update evolved into a multi-phase collaboration that blended comfort, functionality, and style. Whether you’re furnishing one space or reimagining your entire home, our team is here to guide you through every step of the process—with personalized solutions tailored to how you live.
