As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, social distancing will continue to be very important when we choose to have friends and family over. As a result, we believe that an emerging trend is creating interior spaces that allow for socially distanced gatherings.

Part of social distancing at home is how we space the furniture. We can also convert rooms into flex rooms that will help us create even more space whenever we need it.

Sensational Sectionals

Sectional sofas are roomy and help provide a safe socially distant environment for people, not just when seated, but as dividers in the room. Rethinking the way you space your sectionals to create a different landscape for your family and guests is critical.

Sofas like the L-shaped Glamour Sectional, with its attractive presence is a good blend of aesthetics and dimensions that are ideal for dividing open spaces. For those desiring a more formal beauty, the Fly Sectional provides a different presence available in a two or three seater with convex back support and more modern lines.

Titanic Tables

Tables are excellent when working to create a naturally distanced environment. Dining, coffee, and side tables can all help to interrupt open rooms. Spacious dining tables, larger side tables or coffee tables are ideal for creating this type of environment.

Dining spaciously is easy with the Marathon Dining Table, which has a simple and extremely modern profile and a very elongated tabletop, ideal for keeping small numbers of diners in two separate and opposite groups. The aptly-named Splendor Dining Table is even larger, pairing a finely-wrought brass base with a huge tabletop.

Casual, yet safely-distant hosting is made simple by the Kat B Coffee Table, which creates a focal point for gathering. Solid construction and sharp aesthetics combine with four separate storage sections for a beautiful and functional presence. Smaller spaces can benefit from the Myflower Coffee Table, which consists of three different circular surfaces (glass, ceramic and chrome) that extend to evoke beauty.

Refined Recliners

Reclining furniture requires extra space to unfold, making it useful for distancing. For instance, the contemporary stylings of the Stratus Comfort Air Chair are combined with a weight-balancing mechanism to allow for the ultimate in comfort, and a large presence that demands its own space.

Similarly, the Himolla Siegfried Recliner demands its own space while offering reclining comfort for two. Fold-out arms and adjustable height settings combine well with a modern and sleek profile, this sofa recliner is the best of two worlds.

Spacing your Spaces

If you’re choosing to host family or friends, social distancing can help keep everyone safer. Larger furniture can break up rooms and subdivide spaces, forming an unconscious social distancing guide.
