The new owners of this South Florida waterfront condo knew that it was in need of a complete redo. Easier said than done! Luckily, while on a furniture-scouting visit to Sklar, they discovered our full-service design center, which offers everything from complete build outs, through supervising construction and installations, to designing draperies and bed covers. By the time they left, they had engaged Sklar to handle the entire project on their behalf.
In consultation with the client, our interior designers chose a greige color scheme, with added visual interest supplied by bold modern artwork and furniture. We selected blue as the theme color for various home accessories, which pop against the greige background and echo the color of the water visible through the windows. All furnishings, light fixtures and draperies were updated for a completely coherent look throughout the property.
The traditional-style entrance hall, with its dark furniture, inlaid floor and dated chandelier, was given a major facelift. It is now a bright, uncluttered space featuring a fun custom area rug, contemporary lighting, a subtle, flattering color scheme and visually light, high-end console. New cabinetry and a custom vanity gave the bathroom a refresh and the office was equipped with a Comfort SleeperTM sofa bed which lets it do double duty as a guest room. An underutilized sitting area was converted into a stylish bar with striking dark-wood cabinetry. This delightful couple is now ready to host guests from their native New York, entertain friends over dinner and cocktails, and fully enjoy their new waterfront lifestyle.
