Designed by Achille Castiglioni in 1989, the Joy Bookshelf is a masterclass in dynamic utility and sculptural elegance. Unlike conventional bookcases, Joy features a central vertical spine from which cantilevered shelves pivot independently, allowing endless configurations that adapt to your space and your needs. Its minimal footprint and architectural presence make it ideal for creative studios, reading corners, or as a centerpiece in modern interiors.
Constructed from high-density MDF with a scratch-resistant embossed lacquer finish, the Joy Bookshelf pairs durability with refined aesthetics. The metal support column includes a painted steel joint that matches or contrasts the shelf color, depending on the finish. Available in 5- or 7-shelf versions, Joy is offered in a curated palette that includes bold tones like amaranth and espresso alongside neutral options such as talc and hemp.
