Air Modular Wall Unit

The Air Modular Wall Unit by Lago is a design exploration of the relationship between full and empty, where the structural role is assigned to clear, tempered glass and the visual weight falls on the shelves and storage volumes that appear to float within it. Designed by Daniele Lago in 2009, Air requires no wall fixtures or fittings: it stands freely and supports itself through an invisible interlocking mechanism that connects the robust glass supports to the storage units with complete structural integrity. Because it is finished on both faces, Air can function as a freestanding wall unit against a wall or as a room divider within an open-plan living space. Six modular configurations are available, from compact shelving arrangements to expansive storage walls, each fully customizable across Lago's broad material and finish palette including lacquered surfaces, polished and matt glass, wildwood, marble XGlass, metal XGlass, wood XGlass, home couture XGlass, and Animal Zero.
