When Marlene moved into her new home at the ALINA Residences, she wanted to make it a warm and inviting space that showcased her travels and artwork. Marlene was looking to create a modern and comfortable space that was also sophisticated and elegant. Fortunately, she found the perfect partner with Sklar Furnishings.

Sklar Furnishings: The Perfect Fit for Marlene’s Home

Marlene was one of the first owners of the newly built Alina Residences, where Sklar had provided the furniture for all of the common areas. Marlene wanted to do things quickly, but she understood the time frame for items coming from Italy as well as the backorder situation facing the furniture industry at that time. Sklar Furnishings worked with Marlene to create a modern and comfortable home that also had a unique, sophisticated feel. Marlene played a big part in the design of her space, incorporating furniture she brought from her apartment in New York City, along with unique touches from Sklar Furnishings.

Incorporating Unique Features

An important feature Marlene wanted to incorporate was a unique slat wall with a hidden door for the den to create a look similar to the ALINA lobby. Sklar Furnishings worked with several companies until they found the perfect match that offered the best product to create the feature wall in her home. It was designed by Sklar Furnishings Senior Design Architect, Camila Harasic, and was uniquely Marlene.

Sklar Furnishings also provided Hunter Douglas blinds and beautiful sheer panels for Marlene’s windows with a unique, fun sheer fabric she picked from our fabric library.

The Final Result

The overall feel of Marlene’s design was one of sophisticated elegance. Sklar Furnishings was able to provide the perfect furniture, features, and finishing touches that made the space one-of-a-kind and comfortable. It was amazing to see her beautiful style come to life in the finished project with only a few finishing touches of lighting.
