Giving Back: Alzheimer’s Brain Bowl

Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive neurological disorder that affects memory, thinking, and behavior. In the United States, it is estimated that approximately 5.7 million people suffer from Alzheimer’s at the present time, and this number is expected to increase as the population ages. Caring for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia can be challenging and costly, both in terms of personal stress and lost work hours. In addition to the emotional toll on caregivers, there is also a significant financial burden associated with the disease.

To help raise awareness and promote understanding and support for the people of the community coping with Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, the 100 types of Dementia, or a related neurocognitive disorder, Brain Bowl Events Inc., a volunteer-based non-profit organization, organizes an annual luncheon, called the Annual Brain Bowl.

The 9th Annual Brain Bowl is scheduled to take place on February 8, 2023, at Boca West Country Club, and Sklar Furnishings is excited to host a kick-off event for the luncheon on January 17th.
