Designer Philippe Starck flips the classic Louis XVI Dining Chair on its head, and into modernity, with the Louis Ghost Chair, by offering it in polycarbonate and in multiple colors. This chair is versatile, and can be used anywhere from a dorm room to a dining room.
Here are five ways we like to use it:
1) Bedroom
Due to it’s size (Height: 37.2″ Width: 21.25″ Depth: 21”) this chair can serve as part of a small seating area in a bedroom. Mix it with opposite textures like a faux fur throw blanket, or this warm and fuzzy Maltino Rug to create a modern eclectic look and a lesson in contrast.
2) Dining Room
A lot of us have dining rooms that are long and narrow. The translucent material of the Louis Ghost makes it unobtrusive and lends itself well to a smaller room. Its traditional shape is a nod to the traditional dining room, but the polycarbonate pairs well with different styles of furniture like the Sorrento Buffet, meaning you can easily mix it with other pieces for years to come. One of the best features of this chair is that it’s stackable, so if you like to keep a few extra chairs stored away for when guests arrive, you can do so without it taking up too much space.
3) Boardroom
Set your office apart by putting these chairs at your boardroom table. Despite their modern look, these chairs are comfortable, so they are the perfect way to impress your clients while putting them at ease.
4) Living Room
In an open floor concept, a lot of living areas of the home face the challenge of being adjacent to other rooms. Often this requires sections of a room to be separated in a subtle manner, and the Louis Ghost chair allows you to do this seamlessly.
5) Your Patio
This is one of our favorite options for the Louis Ghost. It not only exemplifies its durable and weather resistant nature, but also speaks to what a truly versatile and fun piece it is. Bringing a design associated with 18th century Paris outdoors and onto your patio makes the ultimate ironic statement, and is a party maneuver that just might have your guests giddy and ready for a cocktail.
