Not all of our projects are total home renovations or even total room renovations and sometimes these are the most fun because of the dramatic change the room takes on with only one or two new purchases.
We began with purchasing family room and living room carpets. Even though our palette was neutral we used blush and coral tones in both rooms. The living room has a stunning, sophisticated appeal using the deep walnut wood with the blush, cream and silver tones. In addition, we added soft orange pillows to the cream sofa which pulled in the artwork color and lead into the tones in the family room. The window treatments combine the blush and silver colors in a sheer contemporary drapery topped with a horizontally pleated cornice divided by a fringe.
The family room rug is variegated soft colors of beige to coral, olive green and even a purple. Our linen colored sofa has a few of those colors in ultra suede pillows.
In this particular home the client’s furnishings were used – the existing chairs were reupholstered with a blush ecopelle leather on the inside and a multi tonal fabric on the outside – instant update! The chandelier was changed in the dining room and the new draperies looked absolutely stunning. The dark console in the entry hall was changed out for a light blush lacquered one which tied everything together.
The client was especially delighted – they were left with their original furniture that they truly loved—the small changes of recovering two of the chairs and updating the draperies made the original furniture shine and look better than ever. Big or small we can do it all.
